What to cook with lavash: 15 quick and tasty dishes

Rolls, chips, pies and even baklava – there is a large selection.

1. Fried lavash rolls with cheese

Serve them hot or cold – they will be delicious either way.

Grate 280 g of cheese on a fine grater. Sprinkle 2 thin lavash with cheese and roll each into a tight roll, starting from the narrow side.

Cut into pieces crosswise. Brown them in a frying pan with oil on both sides.

2. Lavash envelopes in an egg

Inside are juicy vegetables, and on the outside is an egg-cheese crust.

Cut 6 circles from 2-3 lavash according to the diameter of the frying pan. Melt some butter in it, put one sheet of lavash. Spread the egg beaten with salt on it.

Sprinkle with a little grated cheese. When it melts, turn the lavash over. Put a slice of cheese and a circle of tomato in the center . Fold all the edges and brown.

Prepare the remaining envelopes in the same way.

3. Lavash chips

They are prepared without a lot of oil, making them a healthier alternative to store-bought snacks.

Cut thin lavash into small rectangles, put in a bag. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, salt, 1 teaspoon of paprika, ½ teaspoon of turmeric and some chopped herbs.

Tie and shake vigorously. Place on a baking sheet, sprinkle with grated cheese.

Place in oven preheated to 180°C for 10–12 minutes.

4. Lavash strudel with frozen cherries

Baked lavash becomes crispy and crumbly, and the filling of berries and walnuts gives the dessert an attractive aroma.

Defrost 500 g of pitted cherries in advance . Mix 2 tablespoons of the juice with 2 teaspoons of starch.

Place all the cherries with juice in a saucepan. Pour in 150–200 g of sugar and cook until it dissolves. Add the prepared starch and stir for 5 minutes. Cool.

Beat 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of yogurt and 4-5 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Chop 100 g of walnuts.

Cut a long thin lavash across. Place the berries along the long side, leaving a few centimeters from the edges. Sprinkle the cherries with nuts. Grease the rest of the lavash with a third of the egg-yogurt mixture.

Cover the berries with their sides and roll them into a roll. Grease the other half of the lavash, which you cut off at the beginning, with the egg mixture as well. Roll the roll in it the same way you rolled the cherries.

Place on a greased baking tray. Brush with egg mixture. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes.

5. Multi-layered pizza made from lavash

According to this recipe, lavash with sauce and meat filling is baked in the oven.

Cut 3 lavash into large squares. Fold each in half, then again to form a square. Unfold: visible folds should remain, dividing the blanks into four parts.

Grease them with tomato sauce. Cut 200 g of sausage, 200–250 g of cheese, 3–4 tomatoes and herbs.

Place cheese on a quarter of the workpiece, sausage on the second, cheese on the third, and tomatoes on the fourth. Sprinkle with herbs.

Cut the bottom of the lavash along one of the fold lines. Fold the bottom right square over the top right. Then cover the top left with this part and fold everything down. All the filling should be inside.

Assemble the remaining pieces in the same way. Bake for 10–15 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C.

6. Lavash roll with red fish and cucumbers

A great option for a quick snack.

Cut 200 g of salted or smoked red fish and 2 fresh cucumbers into strips.

Grease the lavash with processed cheese. Arrange the fish and vegetables on it, laying them out along the long side. Starting from the long side, roll into a tight roll, cut across.

7. Lavash triangles with cottage cheese, cheese and herbs

Perhaps the simplest version of fried pies.

Grate 100 g of cheese, chop a bunch of greens. Mix with 150 g of cottage cheese and 1 egg.

Cut 2 sheets of lavash into wide strips. Place the filling on the edge of each. Fold the edge up and continue to roll into triangles.

Fry with oil until golden brown.

8. Lavash pie with sausage, cheese and tomatoes

If you don’t want to mess around with the dough, just wrap everything in thin lavash and bake.

Cut 400–500 g of sausage , greens and 2–3 tomatoes (remove the seeds). You can also take a couple of pickled cucumbers. Grate 200–300 g of cheese.

Mix the prepared ingredients. Grease a large lavash with mayonnaise or sour cream. Spread the filling.

Fold the short sides of the lavash up and roll it into a roll, starting from the long side. Place on a baking sheet with parchment. Brush with egg.

Place in oven preheated to 180°C for 15 minutes.

9. Sausages in pita bread with egg filling

Crispy rolls with a hearty filling.

Grate 3 boiled eggs, 100 g of hard cheese and 1 processed cheese. Mix everything with herbs and 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise.

Boil 8-10 sausages for a couple of minutes. Cut 2 lavash into rectangles, grease with egg mixture. Put a sausage on one side, bend the side edges and roll into a roll.

Make the remaining ingredients and fry them with oil.

10. Lazy Lavash Baklava

An oriental dessert can be prepared from a minimum of ingredients.

Grind 150 g of walnuts. Melt 120 g of butter and generously grease the lavash with it.

Pour 70 g of liquid honey over the lavash and sprinkle with nuts. Starting from the short side, roll into a tight roll.

Grease with oil and cut into pieces crosswise. Place on a baking sheet with parchment. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 180 °C.

11. Lavash triangles with crab sticks

Quick pies with excellent filling.

Cut 2 lavash into wide strips. Grease the edges with processed cheese. Chop 150 g of crab sticks and place on the cheese.

Fold the edge up to form a triangle. Continue wrapping the filling. Then fry the pies.

12. Lazy lavash chebureki

You no longer have to mess around with dough to make crispy and juicy chebureki.

Chop the onion, 2 cloves of garlic and 3-4 sprigs of coriander. Mix with 300 g of minced meat, 4-5 tablespoons of water, salt and black pepper.

Cut out circles with a diameter of 20–22 cm from 3–4 thin lavash. Put the filling on half of the circle, slightly leaving some space from the edge. Grease the edges with egg, cover with the second half of the workpiece and press.

Make the rest of the chebureki in the same way. Fry them in a frying pan with oil.

13. Lavash pies with apples

You can add cinnamon to the filling to make it even more aromatic.

Cut the lavash into wide strips. Grate 4 peeled apples .

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter, dissolve 3 tablespoons of sugar in it. Add apples and stir for 3-4 minutes.

Place the filling on the edge of the lavash strip. Fold the edge upward to form a triangle. Continue to roll the strip.

Do the same for the rest of the preparations. Brown them.

14. Lavash Shawarma with Smoked Chicken

You can also add cucumbers, peppers or herbs.

Chop 150g smoked chicken, tomato and some cabbage.

Layer cabbage, chicken, ketchup, tomato, Korean carrots and mayonnaise on a sheet of lavash. Fold the edges and roll up the shawarma. You can lightly fry it.

15. PP pie made from lavash with cottage cheese

Cheese and aromatic dill are added to low-fat cottage cheese.

Mix 500 g of low-fat cottage cheese, 300 g of grated cheese, a bunch of chopped dill and salt.

Grease 2 sheets of lavash with cottage cheese, setting aside some of the filling. Roll into rolls.

Grease a 25 cm diameter form with butter. Place the rolls in a circle. Cover with the remaining filling and pour 150 ml of milk.

Place in an oven preheated to 160°C for 15–20 minutes.
